Identifying and defining tribal communities in Indian subcontinent was never an easy task. These challenges arise due to following reasons:-

Therefore, there is a need to move away from the ideal type of tribal characteristic to find any suitable definition, rather greater emphasis has to be on an historical perspective. Rather their own terms to get holistic inclusive development

Definition problem solution also decided the direction of development that Tribal community follow

Tribal Identity too are interlinked with the idea of development path to follow
