Caste and class system of stratification has long been thought of closed and open model of stratification due to formal having ascribed based and less Avenue for social mobility and later having achievement based high Avenue for social mobility.


They both are system of social stratification.

Generally people assume that caste and class are different [ polar opposite]

Caste : Ideological and normative aspects; Class: economic Relations.

Both are conceptual construct and empirical construct.

However, Caste and Class both represent the same social reality in India.
