Intro:- sociology emerged in Europe to study society scientifically.
Main body.
A. Positivist thought modern society are easy to study objectively.
B. Cause and effect relationship easy to establish through data collection.( Quantitative analysis)E.g. study of suicide by Emile Durkheim
A. Society all over the world are converging Forces of de-colonisation, industrialization and globalisation leading to diffusion and acculturation
B. No more subjective and objective binary.( The idea of otherness)Which lead to create anthropology as a distinct subject.
Conclusion:- emerged to study modern society but now study those society too which was not under its subject matter.
